Film Evening in Kapiti

FANNZ and Health Freedom NZ are planning a film evening in Kapiti. This will be at the Memorial Hall in Paraparaumu at 7.30pm.  We will be showing two half hour videos The Fluoride Deception and The Professional Perspectives.  Advertising yet to be organised.

Community Meeting in Waipukurau

The Council is arranging a community meeting where residents can come to hear both sides of the issue.  This is set for Thursday the 10th september at 5.30pm at the Memorial Hall. See http://www.chbdc.govt.nz/a-question-of-fluoride-in-waipukurau/ for more details.

Film Afternoon in Waipukurau

A film afternoon was held in Waipukurau on Saturday the 29th August to help residents there make an informed decision before returning their survey forms to the Council.  The Central Hawkes Bay District Council is sending every household a survey form to ascertain if they want to continue fluoridaiton or not. Central Hawkes Bay District Council is one of only 29 councils (out of 75) that continues to have any fluoridation.

From the film afternoon, residents decided to take action and approach their councillors with facts about fluoridation as well as talk to as many people in the town as possible. 

Presentation to Paraparaumu/Raumati Community Board

After presenting to the Kapiti District Council, FANNZ and Health Freedom NZ will be presenting the Paraparaumu/Raumati community board on MOnday the 27th July 2009.  This is held at "Valhalla" 31 Poplar Ave, Raumati South starting at 7pm. All members of the public are invited.  Your presence is really helpful.

Presentation to Kapiti District Council

FANNZ and Health Freedom NZ will be presenting to the full Kapiti District Council on Thursday the 9th of July at 10.30 at the Kapiti District Council Buildings in Paraparaumu. People are encouraged to attend to show support for the presentation.

Meeting - Wellington Central Library 3pm Saturday 18th July

Everyone welcome. Please come and share your ideas and work with others to stop this harmful practice. It’s not okay for councillors to add a toxic waste, scrubbed from the chimneys of the phosphate fertiliser industry into the water that we and our children drink. That is outrageous!!

50% of all fluoride accumulates in the bone. Accumulation of fluoride causes a bone disease called skeletal fluorosis. The first stages of this disease are the same as osteoarthritis. Is this why 70% of NZ women over 65 have some form of arthritis?

A study published in Cancer Causes and Control in 2006 showed that boys drinking fluoridated water between the ages of 6 and 10 were 500 – 700% more likely to develop a bone cancer called osteosarcoma in their late teens. There have been no studies to refute this finding.

Fluoride effects the thyroid. This can happen at very low levels especially if iodine intake is not adequate. Fluoride was used in the 1950s as a medication to treat to hyper-thyroidism (over-active thyroid). How many people in Wellington have low thyroid? Who’s happy to accept the our councillors giving us and our children a dose of thyroid medication with our drinking water every day?
